# ALB limits and quotas

> The fixed limits for an Application Load Balancer's HTTPProxy: hostnames, rules, matches, backends, and weights.

This page lists the fixed limits of the `HTTPProxy` resource behind every [Application Load Balancer](https://datum.net/docs/alb/overview.md). Quotas for load balancers are not documented yet.

## Limits

| Item | Limit |
| - | - |
| Hostnames for each `HTTPProxy` | 16 |
| Rules for each `HTTPProxy` | 16 |
| Matches for each rule | 64 |
| Matches across all rules | 128 |
| Backends for each rule | 16 |
| Backend `weight` | 0 to 1,000,000, default `1` |
| ALBs attached to each workload with `datumctl compute deploy` | 1, on one port |

For features that load balancers don't support yet, see [Limitations and roadmap](https://datum.net/docs/alb/limitations-and-roadmap.md).
