> Sign in to Datum Cloud with a passkey, or with your Google or GitHub account.

To sign in, go to [https://cloud.datum.net](https://cloud.datum.net). The **Welcome** screen lists the ways you can sign in: **Google**, **GitHub**, **Passkey**, and **Email**. A **Last used** badge marks the method you used last in this browser.

## Sign in with a passkey

To sign in with a passkey, follow these steps:

1. On **Welcome**, click **Passkey**.
2. Your browser shows its passkey dialog. Choose your passkey and confirm with your fingerprint, face, or device PIN.

Datum finds your account from the passkey, so you don't type your email address.

In a browser you've signed in with before, the browser can offer your passkey when the page opens, and one confirmation signs you in. In a browser you haven't used with Datum, your device can ask you to confirm twice: the first confirmation finds your account and the second signs you in.

## Use a passkey from your phone

If your passkey is on your phone and you're signing in on another computer, follow these steps:

1. On **Welcome**, click **Passkey**.
2. In your browser's passkey dialog, choose the option to use a phone, tablet, or another device. The browser shows a QR code.
3. Scan the QR code with your phone's camera, and confirm on your phone.

Turn on Bluetooth on both devices. Your phone uses it to check that it's near the computer, then approves this one sign-in. The passkey stays on your phone.

<Tip>
To sign in on this computer without your phone next time, add a passkey on the computer. For the steps, see [Add a passkey](/docs/platform/account/passkeys#add-a-passkey).
</Tip>

## Sign in with your email address

To sign in with your email address, follow these steps:

1. On **Welcome**, click **Email**, enter your email address, and click **Continue**.
2. On **Choose how to sign in**, click the method you want to use, such as **Passkey**.

If a passkey is your only sign-in method, your browser's passkey dialog can open on its own, and you confirm with your device. Click **Passkey** if it doesn't open.

If your only sign-in method is a linked Google or GitHub account, Datum skips **Choose how to sign in** and sends you to Google or GitHub. Datum doesn't email you a sign-in link or code.

## Sign in with Google or GitHub

On **Welcome**, click **Google** or **GitHub**, and sign in to that account if it asks you to. Datum signs you in to the Datum Cloud account that's linked to it.

## Sign out

To sign out of the Cloud Portal, click your avatar or initials in the top right, and click **Log Out**.

To sign out on other devices, go to **Account Settings** > **Active Sessions**, and click the trash icon (**Revoke**) next to each session you want to end. You can't revoke the session you're using.

## Troubleshooting sign in

If passkey sign-in fails, Datum shows one of the following messages on the sign-in screen:

| Message | What to do |
| - | - |
| "Passkey sign-in was cancelled, or no passkey for this account is available on this device. Make sure you're using a device where you set up your passkey, then try again." | Try again, and choose the passkey for your Datum account. If your passkey is on another device, see [Use a passkey from your phone](#use-a-passkey-from-your-phone). |
| "This device can't use a passkey to sign in. Try another device or a different sign-in method." | Use a device or browser that supports passkeys, or sign in with Google or GitHub if you linked one. |
| "Passkey sign-in couldn't be completed for security reasons. Please contact support if this continues." | Try again. If it keeps happening, contact [support@datum.net](mailto:support@datum.net). |
| "Incorrect credentials. Please try again." | The passkey you chose is no longer on your Datum account, for example because you removed it. Choose another passkey. If you don't have one, see [Recover your account](/docs/platform/account/recover-account). |
| "The passkey verification failed. Please try again." | Try again. |

If you can't use any of your passkeys, for example because you lost the device they were on, go to [https://auth.datum.net/id/recover](https://auth.datum.net/id/recover) to set up a new passkey. For the steps, see [Recover your account](/docs/platform/account/recover-account).

## What's next

* To add a passkey on another device or link Google or GitHub as a backup, see [Manage passkeys](/docs/platform/account/passkeys).
* To get back into your account when you can't use your passkey, see [Recover your account](/docs/platform/account/recover-account).
