This page covers how to see what your gVPC networks are doing: whether each network is ready, which private addresses your Instances have, and the metrics Datum publishes for them.

Is a network ready?

To list your networks with their address space and status, run the following command:
IPV6PREFIX is the /48 that Datum assigned to the network. A network is ready to use when READY is True. For more detail, including each condition and its reason, run datumctl describe network NETWORK_NAME.

Which addresses do my Instances have?

To see each Instance’s private address on its network, run the following command:
Each Instance owns the /96 block shown in INTERNAL IP, taken from the network’s prefix. The first address in the block is the Instance’s private IPv6 address. Instances in different locations get addresses from different parts of the prefix, but they’re all on the same network. See Addressing.

Metrics

Datum publishes the state of your networks and your Instances’ addresses to your project’s metrics store. To query them in your own tools, export them. To find networks that aren’t ready, replace PROJECT_ID:
Datum doesn’t publish traffic metrics for networks yet, such as bytes or packets between Instances. For CPU, memory, and logs of the Instances on a network, see Compute observability. For traffic that reaches your network through a load balancer, see ALB metrics.
